Last year I went for a laser eye surgery pre-assessment with my opticians. I was told that because of the shape and size of my eyes, I was not suitable for LASIK or LASEK eye surgery. Apparently most people are suitable for one type of laser surgery or the other and so I was pretty disheartened as I had my heart set on having laser eye surgery. I’m completely fed up of working glasses and was looking forward to being glasses free for the first time in my life. I left it until a few weeks ago to enquire about alternative methods of eye surgery as I had heard about inacs and perma lenses. My consultant informed me that I’d be suitable for intraocular lenses. This procedure has the same results as laser eye surgery but involves a slightly more complicated procedure where a new lens is put in the eyes. I can’t wait to have it done!
